Estimation of winter feed base of roe in basic types of low-mountain forests in the Western Caucasus
Abstract. European roe is the most typical kind among the wild ungulates of the Western Caucasus. In recent years due to the future Winter Olympic Games in 2014 in Sochi anthropogenic impact has increased on this territory. Development of natural resources, constructing sports and tourist objects, increase of transport – all these have caused the qualitative change of natural habitat, violation of migratory processes, reorganizations of structure in population, and, as a result, changes in the dynamics of quantity. The aim of the work is to estimate the winter feed base of roe in the basic types of the low-mountain forests in the Western Caucasus.
