Modern economic tendencies of Russian Northern and Arctic regions
Abstract. Assessment of environmental, resource and transport potential in Northern and Arctic regions has been presented. It has been shown that Russian Northern and Arctic regions are of special importance to the country in ensuring economic, geopolitic, defensive and other interests. Energy resources and transport potential of Northern and Arctic regions can be one of the tools advisable to modernize the national economy and ensure – through realizing an effective social and economic policy – the sustainable spatial development of Northern and Arctic regions.
