On the content of the notion "subject of history"
Abstract. In this paper various views of Russian philosophers on the problem of subjects of history have been analysed. The properties of subjects of history have been compared. The principles of studying subjects of history have been given. The conclusion has been made that the subject of history is characterised by the specific subject activity having a certain meaning. All the ideas of the subjects of history have been systemised on the basis of the dialectal categories of common, specific and unitary.
