On classical theories of multiculturalism and tolerance
Abstract. The paper considers the classical theory of multiculturalism formulated by the founder of this philosophic conception Ch. Taylor, the American multiculturalism and multicultural citizenship theory of W. Kymlicka and the tolerance theory of M. Walzer. The author analyzes the main categories of this philosophical school of thought, its merits and demerits which are reflected in the practice of multiculturalism as a policy and ideology.
