Abstract. Relating to the works of Russian religious philosophers of the XIX and early XX centuries the author gives a brief analysis of the notion of national unity as a religious, spiritual and philosophical term which is quite complicated, contradictory and many-sided. The author underlines the uniqueness of this phenomenon having explored its origin, evolution and meaning for the social life in Russia.
