Abstract. The paper presents statistics of fires on vessels of fishing fleet in the North Basin in 1997-2007. The data on fires depending on the seasons, the location of the vessels, as well as the place of the fires on ships have been given. The classification of fire causes has been shown and the probability of fire distribution has been determined. The results can be used for design and operation of fishing vessels.
