Distribution Function of Random Vortex Velocities in the Turbulent Ionospheric Current
Abstract. A theoretical expression for the distribution function of random vortex velocities in the turbulent ionospheric current has been derived. The validity of the theory has been tested by: 1) a correlation between theoretical velocity variations and results of computer simulation of the GD instability; 2) a comparison between theoretical and experimental shapes of Doppler spectra.
