Auroral irregularities and the Farley - Buneman instability
Abstract. It is necessary to know the spatial-time variations of the electron concentration in order to calculate the scattering cross-section of the auroral irregularity per volume unit. It has been shown that it is impossible to obtain them within the traditional approach to the theory of the Farley-Buneman instability development. A more common statement of the problem which allows to get over this difficulty has been proposed in the paper.
