Application of ultrafiltration process for purification of chondroitin sulfate extracted from marine hydrobionts
Abstract. The technology of purification of the chondroitin sulfate from low molecular weight protein contaminants using ultrafiltration process has been worked out. Using polyelectrolyte swelling effect in a solution of chondroitin sulfate, and the separation of contaminants on the membranes makes it possible to obtain demineralized polysaccharide with a given range of molecular weight and a high degree of purification from protein and amino acids impurities.
