Views of metropolitan Filaret (Drozdov) on principles of spiritual and social life of the person

Abstract. The paper analyses views of metropolitan Filaret (Drozdov). On the basis of this analysis the principles of spiritual human life defining social life have been defined, and the conclusion about the relevance of the given principles for modern life has been drawn. Decisions by metropolitan Filaret of the following problems have been considered: relation between reason and will, sensual and spiritual, freedom, and criteria of person perfection and progress.
