Feeding rations and food consumption of Greenland halibut in the Barents Sea

Abstract. Daily and yearly feeding rations have been calculated for Greenland halibut in the Barents Sea basing data on quantitative analysis of stomach contents for 2001-2010 and using information on gastric evacuation rate, fish body weight and water temperature. These estimations have allowed determining total food consumption as well as consumption of the most important commercial fish and invertebrates by whole population of Greenland halibut in the Barents Sea.
