Antiquity as a beginning of world history in the works of German thinkers of the XVIII – XIX centuries (to the problem of the historical method formation)
Abstract. The paper contains analysis of attitude to antique civilization as a starting point of historical development which was formed in the German philosophy of history. Philosophical and historical views of German philosophers of the period from the XVIII century to the first half of the XIX century have been considered in terms of explication of the historism concept from nature and the universe to culture and society.
