Conceptions of mental language in the medieval philosophy
Abstract. The paper shows how the ideas of mental representation of words and sentences, on one hand, and "words of the heart" - on the other, were the objects of lively debates in the XIII-XIV СЃenturies, in which the stakes were nothing less than the universality of thought and its relation to language.
