Modeling of seismic location in three-dimensional media
Abstract. The description and principle of operation of the Seismic configurator programme developed in the Kola branch of Geophysical Survey of RAS have been presented. The programme allows a user to specify 3D seismic medium velocity models, to locate seismic events and to model location errors caused by uncertainties of travel time models and onset picking errors. A new approach to modeling (the seismic medium is replaced by a random graph consisting of large number of vertices and edges) has been applied. Models have been specified by a simple parameters description language.
