Ways of atmosphere normalization of deep open-pits

Abstract. The paper presents results on numerical modelling of processes of air currents distribution in the pit space and normalization of pit atmosphere by a pressure system of ventilation through ventilation raise workings and horizontal excavations. Significant changes have been recorded in the structure of high-velocity currents in the pit space when using alternative ways of air supply. The calculation results on removal of harmful impurities from the pit space at different velocities of air supply through excavations have been given.
