Military security in Russian Arctic and protection of floating nuclear power plants along the Northern Sea Route
Abstract. The results of the analysis have shown that the Arctic region is characterized by a continuous expansion of the military activity zone of the Arctic states causing definite concern in Russia. Development of the Northern Sea Route is impossible without reliable protect of northern borders of the Russian Federation. The researches have shown that the most successful projects may be installation of floating nuclear power plants. Such projects can be considered as the most effective and not unique. The nuclear facilities require reliable support and protection in the military sense of various attacks. The decision of the whole complex of these problems can contribute to successful implementation of the strategy for the Russian Arctic development.
