Hydrographic service of the Russian Imperial Navy and exploration of Arctic
Abstract. The achievements of Russian researchers of Arctic whose role is underestimated in foreign literature resourses have been shown. Some peculiarities of the national organizational structures (the Admiralty Board, the hydrographic service of the Russian Imperial Navy) have been considered. They considerably contributed to research of Arctic and development of the Northern Sea Route.
