Civil society: Utopia or reality
Abstract. The paper considers the conceptual content of the "civil society" notion; the prerequisites of formation of "developed" civil society in contemporary Russia and obstacles along the way have been analyzed; theoretical differences of "optimists" and "pessimists" in the views on possibility and historical timeline of creating the society have been discussed.
