Experience of navigation department on reading lectures on special discipline in English
Abstract. In the paper importance of the knowledge of the (American) English language has been declared. It is shown English is a part of the new educational technologies of the new age. Then the experience of the Navigational Department in this direction has been described. The lectures of Celestial Navigation have been delivered in English for the four consequent academic years since 1995/1996. The special simultaneous method of "Eye-Ear" is used. The test-book and the special concise dictionary on Navigation and Mathematics are issued as the methodical base of the process. The results of the experiment can be considered as successful.
