The chemical composition of the snow in urban environment in the Far North
Abstract. The paper presents experimental data of the chemical composition of snow cover of squares and streets in the polar cities. It has been revealed that the natural ratio of cations and anions is modified in the snow. Comparative assessment of the levels of concentration of metals in the snow showed higher values in squares than on the streets. It has been shown that the main share in the pollution of snow by heavy metals belongs to the dust of anthropogenic origin
