The first data on paleomagnetism of Palaeoproterozoic rocks of the Serpovidny structure (the Kola region, northeastern Baltic Shield)

Abstract. The orientation of natural magnetization vector components in amphibolites and amphibole schists (magnetite up to 10 %) coincides with that of the modern magnetic field vector. Different orientations have been discovered only in quartzitic gneiss (magnetite ? 2 %) and regressively changed chlorite-amphibole schist. The palaeopole position determined for these rocks corresponds on the apparent pole wander path to ages of 1.95 Ga and ~1.80 Ga, respectively
