Abstract. The paper considers the content of a legal norm from the modern theoretical positions. The relation between law and legal norm has been defined. The different points of view on the concept "the legal norm" of the leading theorists have been analyzed. The authors' position on the subject has been expressed and the own definition of the legal norm has been offered.
