The historical and legal genesis of the concept "efficiency"
Abstract. The paper has analyzed the term "efficiency" used in jurisprudence as a principle and a criterion of the law-enforcement activity. As an evaluative criterion of the efficiency it has been considered as a parameter showing the optimum "coefficient of efficiency" of the corresponding structure. As a principle of the law-enforcement activity efficiency assumes accordance between law-enforcement purposes and their expenses.
