On experience of stern tube arrangements' exploitation and tendencies of their development
Abstract. The paper contains the analyses of domestic and foreign experience of stern tube arrangements' exploitation at different ships. The functional performance of antifriction materials for stern-shaft bearings has been evaluated. The perspectives of stern tube arrangements' development owing both to the improvement of traditional construction and using the alternative movers instead of propeller shafts have been considered.
