On the cultural mission of the modern university
Abstract. In the paper some aspects of contemporary understanding of university mission have been analyzed. The author has emphasized the contradictions of the process of university functioning as a traditional element of European culture under the conditions of globalization and multiculturalism. In the paper the vision of contemporary university as a multicultural community model has been grounded.
