Seismic Action of Underground Mass Explosions on Surface Structures
Abstract. On the basis of experimental observations over seismic action of underground mass explosions the interrelation between alluvium amount and ground fluctuations period has been established. It has been revealed that for the near zone of explosion, where the high-frequency fluctuations prevail, criterion of danger is the speed of displacement in the basis of structures, and for the distant zone, where the period of fluctuations functionally depends on alluvium amount and on speed of cross wave distribution in them, criterion of danger is the displacement in constructive elements of the structure. It has been established that decrease of mass explosion seismic action is achieved by selection of mass explosion design, that provides fluctuation spectrum, most safe by energy saturation criterion of a low-frequency range, in which there are resonant phenomena. For these purposes the spectral model of short-delay explosion has been developed. It allows to estimate mass explosion amplitude and frequency characteristics depending on their design.
