Abstract. In the paper the views of Russian philosopher I.A.Il’in on one of major problems of the history of philosophy of the XX century – problem of the person – are considered. The original understanding by the philosopher of essence of the person is emphasized. Views of I.A.Il’in on reasons of cultural crisis in the XX century are also analyzed in the paper.
