Morals as an ideological basis of P.I. Novgorodtsev law philosophy
Abstract. The paper considers the views of some Russian 'holistic' thinkers of the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries on problem of personality's role in history. Among them are L.P. Karsavin, S.N. Bulgakov, N.A. Berdyaev, S.L. Frank. The author focuses on their attitude towards the possibility of impacts and interaction of 'prominent people', 'heroes' and 'geniuses'. It has been concluded that the thinkers agreed to recognize the leading role of 'prominent people' only on the basis of the central position of any personality in history and in the world development.
