Storage of problematic types of spent fuel of nuclear power units in containers: Aspects of thermal safety

Abstract. In the paper the results of research work estimating radiation consequences of explosion in underground storage of the spent nuclear fuel have been considered. The simulation of spatial pattern of flow for the variant of ventilating system stopping has shown capability of exception of radioactive aerosol release from storage due to proposed systems of passive safety.
