Activation of the microbiological reduction processes in oxidation of fuel-oil contaminated soils
Abstract. Basing on the results of laboratory studies and the experience of application in the Kola mining industry sector there has been provided the substantiation of the conservation method of the man-made mineral raw materials, stockpiled in concentration waste dumps, by forming grass sod without applying a fertile layer. The success of stable grass sod formation on mineral substrata without applying the fertile layer according to the program of soils formation developed in the course of evolution is provided by the application of a polymeric covering, which stops wind and water erosion, improves ecological background of root layer horizons, thus providing steadily high efficiency of herbage and the fast formation of grass sod. The creation of polymeric covering without sowing of crops eliminates the challenge of wind and water erosion of tailing dumps in operation.
